DCS 2 Way Radio Ltd was proud to provide critical radio communications for the 2015 Rugby World Cup at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.
The stadium, best known as the home of Manchester City Football Club, hosted the England v Uruguay Rugby World Cup fixture on 10th October 2015, requiring a reliable communications network to support event operations and ensure the smooth running of the match.
DCS 2 Way Radio supplied more than 180 Motorola DP4400 digital two-way radios for the event. The radios were deployed across multiple departments, enabling instant communication between operations teams, medical personnel, security staff and event coordinators throughout the stadium.
Alan Platt, Director of DCS 2 Way Radio, commented:
"We supplied over 180 digital Motorola DP4400 hand portable radios for the event, covering all areas of communication from Operations to the medical team."
The system operated on an eight-channel Motorola MOTOTRBO digital radio network, specifically designed to provide reliable coverage both inside and around the stadium. The solution ensured that staff could communicate quickly and efficiently in what was one of the world's most prestigious sporting events.
With extensive experience supporting sporting fixtures, concerts and large public events across the UK, DCS 2 Way Radio understands the importance of dependable communications where safety, coordination and rapid decision-making are essential.
Alan added:
"We supply two-way radios for many sporting events, large and small, but I'm a huge rugby fan, so it was especially exciting to be involved with such a prestigious tournament."
